Surgery went well!

We are home from Kansas City with Isaiah. His surgery went really well and he is doing great. If he didn't have his brace on his arm, you would never be able to tell the little guy had even had surgery. He bounced back so quickly and the brace doesn't seem to bother him or slow him down.

His surgery was Monday morning and by late afternoon he was wanting to get up and run around. By Tuesday morning he had all his IVs out and his Morphine pump was turned off. He was running up and down the halls of the hospital Unit. He was released Wednesday afternoon and has been pretty much normal since returning home.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. It's great to have it done and him doing so well. I will keep updating as time allows. I have to keep on my toes constantly so that Trevor and Kaylee don't knock him over, or he doesn't hit his arm on something. So there isn't a lot of time left for anything else with a three and four yr old running amuck, along with speedy Jones and his left turn signal. he he. He is such a trooper.

Getting to the important stuff...

This week has been a learning experience in patience. We are all on the mend again, finally..and I am really scared to say that, as it may start the whole cycle over again. So I will stop with the discussion there.

I had a very sureal moment today, I realized, although I have always known it, that my kids are really growing up entirely to fast. We are limited on the amount of time we are blessed with enjoying them, as they grow and become their own person. My moment that clicked with me today was that I need to really enjoy my kids and not be so worried about what my house looks like, or how much I can get done in a day, because when it is all said and done, I will be left with a tidy house and no one to enjoy it with. People will not remember what my house looked like, but they will remember if my kids were happy and well rounded. And how much fun they were.

I need to really live in the moment, if my kids want me to stop doing the dishes or cleaning the floors and play with them, I need to stop and play with them. I need to be a more "there in the moment" parent. And not one who encourages them to watch Spongebob or play in their rooms, so I can get things done that aren't as important as helping them grow and enjoy their childhood. Yes they are things that need to get done, but my house is not going to fall down if the vaccuming isn't done everyday. So from here on out, I am going to be "there" in the moment with my kids more. I am going to really enjoy them, and not worry about the unimportant things in life. After all, time is the one thing that keeps on marching, and before I know it, I will be wishing I did more with our kids.

This N That..

Just when I had bragged that the kids were feeling better, the whole thing started over again. Trevor woke up last night vomiting again and then proceeded to have the poops until 4 am this morning. It was not a good night, then low and behold..Kaylee woke up puking and pooping this morning. Sheesh..is it ever going to end? I called the Dr's office and it seems this is some kind of viral bug that is going around. No other symptoms except the pukes and poops. It can last upwards of a couple of weeks. I started giving them Alternagel as per the Dr's request and they have been poop free since late this morning. So I am crossing my fingers that it is at the end.

If all stays well tonight we will be making a trip to Grandma and Grandpa's tomorrow. It's an hour and a half away. So we will see.

I am loving the new camera, but still have not had a chance to figure out all the neato stuff it can do. I will probably get it all figured out about the time it needs replaced..ha. But boy does it ever take great pics. Much clearer and crisper than my point and click digital.

Isn't it so sad about the College shooting in Illinois? It is so scarey to think what the world is coming to. I am so scared for the future of my children. It said on a ticker on Yahoo that this was the fourth school shooting this week. THIS WEEK??? What on earth is wrong with people?? So sad and so frightening.

Early Birthday Present!

I had mentioned that I wanted a new SLR Digital Camera and upon looking into them online, I found an awesome deal at Dell. They had the kit which included the Camera, two lenses, two batteries, flash digital media card, lens cleaning kit and an awesome camera bag tossed together for an awesome price, and then they were having a sale which took an additional $200.00 bucks off. So I put a BIG bug in Tom's ear that Valentine's day and my Birthday were all coming up..and low and behold, a few moments ago the DHL delivery guy just tapped upon my front door and delivered my new Canon camera. I am one excited and happy camper right now.

Pure Relief...

Trevor and Kaylee are finally rid of the bug that caused severe pukes and poops. Thank goodness. So far..*crossing fingers*..Isaiah has shown no signs of the bug. Nor have Tom or I. They went back to preschool today and they were really ready to get back into routine..as was I. It really is a nice little break when each one is gone to school and there are only 2 kids to entertain for a short while. Don't get me wrong..I really really love my kids and enjoy spending time with them, but it is nice to have the numbers dynamic changed for a while. With a very active 2 yr old it is sometimes hard to give the positive attention that is needed to all three of them.

I had gone to my Policy Council meeting last night for my kids preschool and upon returning and going in to kiss them each goodnight, I found Kaylee like this...

She had quietly gone into the bathroom..(I swear this child has Stealth mode)..and gotten into my makeup bag and put on mascara so in her words "She could look pretty" cause "Momma, makeup makes you pretty..see my eyes?". All the while my hubby hadn't heard a peep out of her and had no idea she had been in the bathroom. He thought she was quietly laying in her bed..haha. I can not count the amount of things this child has poured out and painted things with, along with writing on the computer screen with purple ink pen, painting the kitchen floor with a dozen cracked eggs, put boudreaux's butt paste all over her dolls, thing such as this. Oiiieee. I would say she is feeling better wouldn't you?

Fabulous weekend...then it strikes..

I had a wonderful weekend. My oldest and dearest friend Christel and her little girl came to visit and we had such a wonderful time. I haven't seen her since September and it was time to spend some girl time together.

We hit the big 40% off sale at Old Navy and cleaned up on outfits for our kiddos. I love the new spring fashions they have. So cute. Especially the little girl things. We spent a lot of time talking and catching up on things in our lives. It was so great to see her. I really need to make an effort to find the time to spend more weekends with her. She and I have been friends since high school, and since this will be our 19th year out of school..(eeegaddds..I am getting old,) that's a long time.

After such a lovely day spent together, it all hit the fan. My oldest started in with throwing up and then it started out the lower end, the next thing I knew Kaylee was joining in. I really hoped that the bad colds and strep we have had recently would have been the end to our winter misery, but no such luck. They are still home from preschool today sick. Trevor's symptoms have left, but he is still a little crabby and clingy, so I kept him home another day, Kaylee still has the lower end problem. It is bad. I am praying that Isaiah doesn't get it as he is only a week and a half away from his surgery and if he is sick they won't do it.

I am so ready for spring to be here. I want to open my house and get all the germs and lysol drenched fumes out of here. As if we don't have enough laundry having five people in the family, we now have way more. So it really starts to wear one down. This is the only part of motherhood I really degress. I don't like having sick kiddos. But I guess it's all part of the package of being a parent.

Here's to hoping this all ends soon and we can be back to normal..whatever that might be..ha.

Ramblings..

Isn't he just the sweetest little guy? How can someone that adorable and innocent looking be so ornary? I swear that boy will be the death of me..haha. Must be the age. Gotta love the terrible two's. But three and four seem to be just as trying. Please tell me they grow out of it..one can dream can't she? haha

I have been doing some research on buying a new camera..I would like some input if you have any reviews for me..I am getting fed up with my point and shoot digital and have been looking at a Canon Rebel XTI, the picture quality is awesome from the samples on their website, but would like to know if any of you have any suggestions for SLR digital cameras. Are the pictures better quality? Are they easy to use? Etc..etc...if you have any knowledge..please share!

Scandelous.....

I am having an affair!

Did I get your attention? haha

Oh the nerve of some things. I have gotten bit by the Scrapbooking bug once again and have found myself spending entirely to much time working on my albums and not enough time blogging. Momma no likey missing out on all the great blogs out there. I promise to do better and get my priorities in order.

I had forgotten how much time can be spent on albums. Sheesh. My poor sleep deprived body. I have been staying up way to late to get some alone time with my pictures and memories and although it has been great and felt good to get some of them done, I need to cut myself off or it will consume me. Talk about addictions. ha.

So just in case you were wondering what happened to me, that's what's been going on in my little snowed in world.

Good cause!

A friend of mine sent this link to me, her son is suffering from Autism and she wants all the help she can get. Also my oldest son has shown some signs of Autism and could maybe someday benefit from your gracious help. Thanks.
